Boost Profile

Phil Shanker is a lifelong athlete and dedicated runner with 50 years of road racing experience, from the 10k to the marathon.

The Challenge

An athlete since high school and college, Phil excelled at nearly every sport. During veterinary school, running became his go-to activity for limited free time and soon turned into a lifelong passion.

But decades of pounding the pavement took a toll:

“With countless miles on my legs over the years, my left knee is somewhat bothersome and my running times and distances have dramatically changed.”

The Discovery

Phil discovered the Boost 3 microgravity treadmill, which reduces impact and supports high-performance running without additional strain.

The Boost Solution

With guidance from Sean and the Boost team, Phil quickly integrated the Boost 3 into his regular training routine and quickly felt the difference.

“Luckily I happened upon the Boost 3. I can now do 10 kilometers at a pace near what I did 40 years ago and it feels terrific.”

The Results

  • Runs 10 kilometers at near his pace from four decades ago
  • Experiences less knee discomfort after each session
  • Regained the exhilaration of a fast run

“Afterwards my troublesome left knee actually feels better. The joy of the good pace run has returned.”
